Choosing the right puppy for you
If you’ve decided you might like to welcome a miniature wire haired dachshund to your family, give us a call on 07815 194 582 / 0115 966 3567. We’ll talk you through the next steps and answer any queries you may have.
If we have puppies available you’ll be able to make an appointment to come and meet them and their parents (and us!). You’ll be able to spend time with the puppies available so you can see how well you get on and get a feel for their personality; it’s very important you are a good match!
Taking your puppy home
Once you decide you’ve found the puppy for you we’ll require a deposit to confirm you’d like to take your new puppy home when he or she is ready. Puppies stay with us (and together) for at least 8 weeks before moving to their new forever homes. During this time they will receive their microchip and first vaccination, along with their registration with the Kennel Club. This also gives you a chance to puppy proof your house!
During the interim we'll send you photos and updates on what your puppy has been getting up to and how they're growing.
When your puppy is ready to move to their new home you’ll be able to come and pick them up.
You’ll also be provided with a Puppy Information Pack, which includes:
- Training advice
- Worming advice and puppy’s worming record
- Grooming advice
- Immunisation advice specific for your puppy
- Information on characteristics of the breed
- Exercise advice
- Contract of sale
- Information about your puppy and it’s pedigree
- Kennel Club registration document
- Microchip details
- 5 weeks free insurance from the Kennel Club
- Vet health check certificate
- Socialisation advice and chart
- Feeding advice and puppy’s diet information
